Be-You-Tifully Fit: Scale is the same.

img_20160517_142806.jpgOver the course of the last year, I have remained in the same clothes more or less.  The scale has gotten to a point of minimal fluctuation.  From all outside looks to the matter, it looks like I have plateaued but that is only from the once over.

Deeper insight…

Running 50+ mile weeks (picture on the left) put me in amazing shape, but I was exhausted and could barely keep up.  I was also gaining weight because it was hard to maintain a body ready to run that much.  My jeans were tight and it made no sense…all I had to blame was marathon training.  Flabby Fit.  That’s what I deemed it.  Here I was supposed in the best shape of my life but I didn’t have the body I wanted.  I had a body that was built to survive 50-60 miles of running a week with a double stroller…sure!  But the loose skin wasn’t tightening up and my body was holding things to be able to run.

Fast forward…

Strength 4 days a week and 15-20 miles (picture on the right).  I am exactly the same weight in both pictures.  This may not be that incredible WOW moment for some but it is for me.  Over the course of the last 2 1/2 years (since Hannah was born), I have been trying to achieve a happier, healthier me.  I want to not be crazy upset when I eat one bad meal and my weight goes bananas the next day & I look like I had that meal.  What I was looking for was the freedom to feel normal.  Being able to eat splurge food with my kids and wake up with no sign of it having happened.  That is where I am now.  That is where I wanted to be!

I may not have all the answers and I do not expect to.  I only know how to read my own body’s progress.  This body that I have strengthened over the last 6 months…wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Day my life changed: 8/3/2012

Weight

  • Highest weigh-in to date: 243.5 lbs on 3/11/2008  (Wore 18/20 & 22/24 for a gown)
  • As of 8/3/12: 208.6 (wearing size 16/18)
  • As of today: 147.4 lbs (wearing size 4-6, XS-S & 26-27 jeans)

Body Fat Percentage

  • As of 8/3/12: 46%
  • Body Fat %: ?%

Goals

  • 134 lbs
  • 18% body fat

Progress

  • Next Race: Sand-sational 8K
  • On week 9 of the She Sweats Run Builder from www.heandsheeatclean.com
  • Been sticking to my macros
  • Still logging in my MyFitnessPal!  I hit a 1,133 day streak!
