Our Christmas Tree & its heirlooms in the making!

Our Christmas Tree & its heirlooms in the making!

A couple years ago, we decided to change our tree decorations and tossed around a few ideas of what we can do that would be special to just us.  I love making things that are more personalized that can later be passed down.  I randomly saw a deal on Snapfish or Walgreen’s while searching for a gift for the children’s godmother when I decided that making our own photo ornaments was just what we were looking for.  The perfection in this…it’s already a great moment captured in a picture!  Here’s the ornaments we have so far.  Can you only imagine what our tree will look like 20 years from now?

2007 – Our first Marine Corps Birthday Ball

2008 – The Birth of Aiden

 2009 – Our Wedding Day

2010 – The Birth of Lilli

2010 – Our First Wedding Anniversary

 2011 – Christmas Family Portrait

2012 – The Birth of Isabel

  1. We do sort of the same thing. I have tons of picture frame ones and get a new one every year. And a lot of the other ornaments have memories connected to them, I’ve picked ones up on trips to the zoo, ect. I love it 🙂

    1. Aw! I love that! I’ve also been letting the kids pick out a hallmark ornament each year. Love the thought that when they’re grown they can take them for their own tree 🙂

  2. Pretty! I think I need to start making ornaments for the family… We have a few, but I love how it tells a story.

    1. The best part when you go to start it…Walgreens, shutterfly and snapfish run all sorts of deals too! I go through ebates too and get the extra cash back. Snapfish does the cash back the best. I think the last was 40% off through them and 20% cash back through ebates!
